Christmas in September !!
As I write this, we are experiencing record high temperatures in my Southern California neck of the woods! I have a coffee cup image on my website, homage to my love of (and need for) coffee. But today, iced coffee (heavy on the ice) is what I am currently sipping! So why do I feel like a kid on Christmas morning ready to dive into so many goodies? My gifts on this sweltering 100+ degree day come in the form of a new website, a new book, my Barbara Wood Collection and my first ever blog!
Welcome to my new website! I hope you enjoy all the content as well as the fresh new look! Be sure to stop by my Guest Book and leave a message. I will write back!
When I decided to re-design my website (actually, correction, my “team” decided for me) . it was suggested that I should include a blog. To be honest, I wasn’t sure exactly what a blog entailed, but my mind was put at ease when I realized that it was simply a personal journal with the slight twist of being in a very public forum. And I get to talk about whatever’s on my mind, which of course I hope interests you too.
So, for my first journal entry I want to acknowledge and thank all of my loyal readers for their support over the past 30 years! I’ve met so many of you through this wonderful medium of the Internet, though my Guest Book, my Message Boards, and in person at countless book events, reading group meetings, and book signings. Meeting readers in person or receiving guest book posts, e-mails and letters (yes, I still receive paper mail) is always a treat for me. As much as readers are interested in me and my work, I too am interested in the people who read my stories, because each of them has a unique life story and perspective.
My new website has coincided rather wonderfully with a couple of other “goodies” – a new book, DAUGHTER OF THE SUN, published by St. Martin’s, and the re-publication of 12 of my out-of-print early titles by I-universe: The Barbara Wood Collection.
To my American and Canadian readers, Happy Labor Day!
To my German readers – my next project: the translation of my website into German.
