Hi, Barbara, When last I e-mailed you, I was still searching for a publisher for my
first, Left Bank. Although several houses have responded with glowing letters,
including Stacy Creamer and Tom Colgan at Putnam and most recently Charles Spicer at St.
Martin's who called it excellent and said he had several people read it and
they agreed with his assessment, yet no contract!
My question: I've revised the ending in response to a few of our rejection letters and
now feel that the book is in it's optimum shape. At what point do I think about making a
change i.e. different agent or whatever? I hate to impose on you, but I remember as a
member of your class at UCR, that you might be amenable to looking at the finished product
of one of your unpublished albeit determined and talented, or so I've been told, former
students.
In closing, continued great success and let me know if you have the time.
David Colgrove, M.D.
