Barbara.
I picked up 'Vital Signs' twenty-five or so years after it was published [if I'm not mistaken with the dates] at a road-side stall that claimed to offer excellent books. By page ten, I wanted to read more. By page twenty, I was in love.
The book is lovely and, when I ran a search for it on the Internet, I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to find anything on it, given how much time has passed since it was first published. To my delight, I landed here, on this website, and was able to get a list of your other books. What splendid luck!
Let me say that, despite a few weaknesses, 'Vital Signs' is a book that made my day. A reviewer myself, I found it lush, exciting, and a heady mix of the stress of medical life [trust me, I know what it is like], the time before the Woman's Lib, and romance. Especially that of Sondra and Derry. It had an endearing touch to it.
I look forward to more of your work, and reading it till I drop!

Danke!

We have your Butterfly book in our bookclub and two of the girls are sure they have seen a movie of the same story... Is this true, has a movie ever been made? If so please let us know. Thanks, looking forward to reading more of your work. Ann

Respectueusement, Marie
Good evening Madame, I am very happy to "take my hat off" (I am not sure about the translation!). I feel deeply concerned with the bottom of your fantasies. Sacred and lovely. Thank-you for your words, Marie

Dear Ms. Wood,
I just finished reading "Night Trains", a fingernail biting, fascinating account of an episode in Poland during Hitler's regime. It was radically different than the other books of yours I've read, starting with "Sacred Ground", which I really loved. I had gone into a used book store to find a copy of an out-of-print book and stumbled upon a section with some of your books. I hadn't read "Night Train", and didn't realize it existed.
This book, printed in 1979, was very different than your other books I've read where strong women protagonists are at the forefront. Although I really like to read about interesting, strong women, I must say that "Night Train" was gripping. I found myself discussing it with a friend at a party I attended last night, and he told me he never reads fiction, only non-fiction, preferably history. Well, after my description, he now wants to read the book.
Thank you for putting out book after book that keep me turning those pages.
An admiring fan, Robin Heart Shepperd

Dear Mrs. Wood, today I bought some of your books. I really like the way you write. Since i had been 12 years old, i have collected your books. Now, just one is left.
When I'm in our city, I visit a library. I'm always looking for a new book. My favorite one is "Sacred ground". But everything started with "Green city in the sun". Unfortunately my mom lost it during a trip. It had been a gift from her.
Yours sincerely Sandra Weiss

Hi Barbara! When I first got one of your novels, I was like "Oh my gosh, this book has so many pages" but then I couldn't stop reading. I read it in german and I don't know the english title of the book. But it was the one with the girl who came to Australia to find out something about her family! It was so fascinating, I read also some in english, like the "Blessing stone". But one thing was strange to me, I lived 2 years in the states and it was very hard to get there a book from you! Now I think I'm almost done with all your novels :-) That's kinda sad, because I love the way you are writing and how you tell all bout different cultures! Keep the good work up!!!

Hello Barbara, I first read your book, Butterfly, when someone sent it to me in Iraq. It was a great book and passed around our unit a lot. Since then, I have read most of your books and got my aunt into them, too. Thank you for writing such wonderful stories. I love epics like yours. They make it so easy to forget the world around you.

Hi Barbara, I have just been reading your web page which I do from time to time and see that you have written and published another novel "Dieses Goldene Land". Is this novel being printed in English and if so when will it be available?
I can't wait to read it!!!! Cheers Margaret

Sehr geehrte Barbara Wood,
