I don't post here much, but I do visit and read your comments. I am so happy to see you all here chatting. I must confess that the software for this discussion board mystifies me. I notice that some of us are ranked "friend" or "fan" or "discriminating reader." One of us is even ranked "carpal tunnel." And so it occurred to me that everyone here might not know who Sharon is. Some of you have met her, and some of you have received emails or bookmarks from her. Let me introduce Sharon. She is more than a "friend" or a "fan," she is my assistant and, even more than that, she is a very dear personal friend. I would like to create a page on this website devoted just to Sharon, with her picture and a bio, to let you all know who you are chatting with (the very delightful lady behind the name of Sharon). Sharon is modest, however, and doesn't think she should have a page. What do you all think? Should we give Sharon some space on this website so that visitors can see the lovely lady who is my right hand? (And who makes sure I don't make disastrous choices in fashion decisions when I attend a book event) Cheers to you all, and I hope everyone's summer is spectacular! Barbara

Is it possible to use 2 Xbox 360 consoles through a router to log onto Xbox live? I have tried to connect 2 xbox 360 consoles through my router to get on Xbox live, but only one of them can get on. The other one has its DNS test fail on me even though the IP test passes. Can anyone help me figure out what is happening?

Two different versions of Daughter of the Sun?

Hi Barbara, I've just bought the French version of Daughter of the Sun and I was surprised to see that it is totally different from the English one. For one thing, there's no story of Morgana (20th century ) in the English version. Furthermore, the story of Hoshi'tiwa in the English version is different from her story in the French one (for example Ahote dies in the English one, not in the French one, there's no mention of White Orchid in the FRench one, Jakal dies lonely with only Hoshi'tiwa present, whereas in the English one, there's his dramatic death in the fire). Why are these two books so different from each other??? cheers, sino and Merry X- Mas!!!

Hello Barbara and Sharon, I'm looking forward to reading Black Opal but I'm desperate because I don't know when this novel is going to be published. Please tell me when will I be able to buy this book??? PS: Recently,there was this movie "Vital Signs" on German TV. It was just great and the plot was really kept close to the novel. Bats is my real nickname ,,suited for Twilight LOL!! It was by chance I picked up this Book at a Garage sale,,Sacred Ground I was hooked ,couldn't get to the Libary to read more of Barabara's Books very refreshing to read as I was reading too much Fanasty and Twilight series. Virgins of Paradise: question regarding names in German translation

Hello everybody, I've just come across something really strange when I had a look at my mother's German version of Virgins of Paradise. I noticed that the German translators did some curious things with the names of the key players of the book but perhaps someone has an easy explanation for this? Here's the reason for my confusion: Yasmina of the English version is called Amira in the German edition (who's the matriach of the Rasheed clan in the English version) and Camelia of the English version is called Yasmina in the German edition. Why the change of names? Perhaps the original English version had different names for the key players which where adopted by the German editors but changed by the American ones??? Didn't the American editors leave out a part of the script of Daughter of the Sun which was kept in the German version?? (switch to the present, if I'm right) Well, I know: what's in a name, but I'm really interested in the reason behind this change of names. Would be so nice if anybody could help me.. Cheers, Sino

Hi all (and Barbara!) I just discovered this amazing author, and have been reading as many of her books as I can get my hands on! One of my favorites is Daughter of the Sun, and Hoshi'tiwa specifically. Last night I was listening to some Egyptian-themed music, and was inspired! So I drew this: I know I took some artistic license, but I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed drawing it Id love to try my hand at Lord Jakal too! <3
